As Pressure Partners of Blood Pressure UK's 'Know Your Numbers!' Week, we shone a spotlight on prevention, encouraging our communities to take action.

It's estimated 5 million people in the UK have high blood pressure and don't know it. High blood pressure has no obvious signs or symptoms. The only way to find out if you have the condition is to have a blood pressure check. If left untreated, high blood pressure is the major risk factor for strokes, heart attacks and heart failure. It's also a major risk factor for kidney disease and dementia. Regular checks can be done at home, enabling you to take preventative action.
